Greetings POA members:  I hope you are enjoying this Memorial Day weekend.  As you may or may not be aware, Garrett County is experiencing some significant financial difficulties.  The County Commissioners met last Monday, May 20th to discuss several options to close the $4.1 million budget shortfall for fiscal year 2020.  All four proposed options include increasing property taxes which have not been increased since 1996.  Below is the Public Meeting Summary.  Towards the bottom the the notice is a link which takes you to the site where the 4 options are summarized.  Three public meetings are planned to solicit public input and interested parties are encouraged to provide written feedback as detailed below.  As homeowners at the lake, we will all be impacted by whichever option is eventaully adopted.   While nobody wants to think about property taxes on a holiday weekend, your POA board wants to be sure to provide you with important information in a timely fashion.
