POA Members:

I hope all of you are well and are following President Trump's and Governor Hogan’s orders and declarations. Please observe the “Stay at Home” and social distancing Directives in order to reduce/eliminate the spread of the virus. Garrett County is mostly closed down for all of April. All Rentals have been banned and travel after 8PM is prohibited with the exception of “essential” needs. Anyone coming into Maryland from another state MUST self-quarantine for 14 days. Garrett County has limited medical resources so the local government has requested that non-residents limit travel and do not come here until further notice. We ask that you be mindful of the Garrett County Commissioners’ request that people not travel to the mountains right now as well as the parameters of Governor Hogan’s description of “Essential Activities” for permissible travel in his Stay At Home Order of March 30, 2020.  Here is a link to the Govenor's order: https://governor.maryland.gov/wp-content/uploads/2020/03/Gatherings-FOURTH-AMENDED-3.30.20.pdf

In addition, DNR has prohibited recreational boating on Deep Creek Lake until further notice. Law enforcement is stopping and questioning drivers of vehicles as to the purpose and necessity of traveling. As the situation unfolds, the POA will keep you informed via eBlasts.

Please see the following link from DNR for more details:  https://news.maryland.gov/dnr/2020/03/30/dnr-issues-guidance-on-governor-hogans-stay-at-home-order/

Stay safe, Stay home, and Stay apart!

Regards,

Bob Sutton
